AZ91D ALLOY

  • Magnesium alloy is most widely used for general purposes.
  • Main alloying elements: Al and Zn.
  • The inclusion of aluminum improves its:
    • Mechanical strength.
    • Corrosion resistance.
    • Castability.
  • Common application in mechanical components when hardness is more important than deformation capacity.

ALLOYS OF THE SERIES AM (AM60B AND AM50A)

  • Series of alloys with reduced Al content.
  • This alloy offers:
    • High energy absorption.
    • Excellent ductility and fracture consideration.
  • Manganese is included to regulate the iron content of the alloy.
  • Mainly used in components related to safety parts in the automotive and railway sector.

ALLOYS OF THE AS Y AE SERIES

  • Special alloys for use in higher temperature operating conditions (above 120°C).
  • The AS series is based on the addition of silicon.
  • The AE series adds one of the chemical elements called rare-earths.
